SUMMARY

What are cookies?

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are pieces of information that are placed on your browser when you visit a website or use a social network with your PC, smartphone, or tablet. Each cookie contains various data such as, for example, the name of the server from which it comes, a numeric identifier, etc.

Cookies may contain a unique ID and may be stored in your system only for a session (i.e., until you close your web browser) or for longer periods. This second type of cookies is called persistent. The duration of these cookies is set by the server at the time of their creation.

Similar functions may be performed by other tools which, although using a different technology (so-called “passive identifiers”), allow processing operations like those carried out by means of cookies.

From the point of view of their purpose, technical cookies are used for browsing the website and to facilitate your access to and use of the website. Preference cookies are cookies that help you use the website correctly, for example to keep track of your language choice.

A peculiar type of cookies, called analytics, is used by website operators to collect aggregate data about the number of users and about how they browse the website, and thus to process general statistics on the service and its use.

Other cookies may be used to monitor and profile users while they are browsing the website, analyse their behaviour, their web browsing habits or consumption habits, also for the purpose of sending targeted and personalised advertisement. This is the case of profiling cookies.

Cookies are called “first-party cookies” when they are created and stored by the website you are visiting. A web page may also store cookies coming from other websites, which are usually contained in elements hosted on the page itself, such as advertising banners, images, videos. This is the case of “third-party cookies”, which are generally used for profiling purposes.

The data controller does not need the user’s consent for the installation of strictly necessary cookies: the creation and storage of these cookies takes place automatically following access to the website. The user may, however, block or remove technical cookies by changing the configuration of the browser settings. In this case, we would like to point out that you may not be able to access certain areas of the website or use some of our services.

On the other hand, all cookies other than technical cookies are installed or enabled only after you have given your consent the first time you visit the website.

Consent may be given through the cookie banner, according to the procedures indicated in the banner itself; or it may be given according to the procedures indicated here below. The user always has the possibility of withdrawing in whole or in part the consent already provided.

2. TYPES OF COOKIES USED BY THE WEBSITE GOLDBERG-CAPITAL.CH

This website only uses technical cookies, essential for the proper functioning of the website and for the use of certain features, without which the services offered through the website may be partially or totally inaccessible, and preference cookies, which allow the website to store information about its functioning or its aspect.
We do not use profiling cookies.

3. PROVISION OF PERSONAL DATA

Apart from technical cookies which are strictly necessary to allow the browsing of the website, the provision of data is left to the will of the user who decides to browse the website after having read the short information contained in the cookie banner and to use the services that involve the installation of cookies.
The data subject may therefore avoid the installation of cookies other than technical ones by keeping the banner open or clicking on “Reject”.

4. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We process your data lawfully and correctly, taking appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, or destruction of data. The processing is carried out by means of informatic and/or telematic tools.
In some cases, in addition to the data controller, the data may be accessed by authorised subjects in charge of managing the website or by third parties (such as third-party technical service providers or hosting providers).

5. PLACE OF PROCESSING AND DATA TRANSFER

Your personal data will be processed in Switzerland or within the European Union. Otherwise, the transfer will be carried out according to the procedures set out in article 6 DPA and in Chapter V of the GDPR, e.g., by adopting standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or by transferring the data to third countries that ensure an adequate level of protection of personal data.

6. HOW TO DISABLE COOKIES

Third-party cookies are generally not essential for browsing the website, so you can disable them by managing your browser settings.

The Do Not Track option is available in most of the latest generation of browsers. Websites designed to enable this feature should automatically stop collecting some of your browsing data when this option is activated.

You can also activate the “incognito mode”, to surf the Internet without leaving any trace of your browsing data. The websites you visit will not be stored in your browsing history and new cookies will be deleted. However, the incognito mode does not ensure anonymity on the Internet, as it only serves the purpose of not keeping your data stored in your browser, whereas your browsing data will still be available to website operators and connectivity providers.

All browsers have specific functions for deleting cookies. Please note that new cookies are installed every time you access the Internet, so you should delete the cookies periodically.

Regarding third-party cookies, you can manage your settings by visiting the relevant opt-out link (if available), by using the tools described in the third party’s privacy policy or by contacting the third party directly.
